ICHSLTA elects a new President

Stephen Sothmann, President of the U.S. Hide, Skin and Leather Association (USHSLA) has been elected as the new President of the International Council of Hides, Skins and Leather Traders’ Associations (ICHSLTA) at its AGM in Hong Kong on March 31. 

Victor Topper of Australian tanners and traders, A I Topper and Su Chaoying, President of the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) have been elected as Vice-Presidents. Sothmann will serve a two-year term which will include ongoing negotiations with the International Council of Tanners’ (ICT) on an updated version of the International Contract and the AQSIQ regulations for hides and skins entering China, which are due to come in force at the end of this year.

Sothmann replaces Nick Winters, Managing Director of France based, Nick Winters Group as ICHSLTA President. Winters has just completed a two-year term as President in which he has been actively involved in modernising the Association.
